TEMPLE SHIR TIKVA

Estate Planning for Young Families

Sunday, April 28, 2024 20 Nisan 5784

9:15 AM - 10:15 AMCamp Chickami Lodge

Navigating the world of estate planning can be daunting for young families, but incredibly important for protecting your children's future. Attorney and temple member Emily Specter will provide you an overview of what you'll need to think about and what to ask as you start this process.

Learn how to name guardians for your children to serve in the event of both your death and your incapacity; how to protect your assets, both in terms of probate and estate taxes; and how to protect yourself during incapacity. Learn what documents work together to create a complete estate plan.

Emily concentrates her practice in estate planning. She is passionate about working with her clients to put together the puzzle pieces of an estate plan, in order to achieve the peace of mind of protecting their families. Emily aims to use her skills and experience to make the future a little clearer and a little more manageable.

Emily received her J.D. from New England Law, where she attended school at night while also working full time, and her B.A. from American University. She has been practicing exclusively in Trusts and Estates since graduating from law school in 2009. Emily lives in Sudbury with her husband and young son. In her spare time (if she can find any!), Emily enjoys cooking, photography, and organizational projects.

This program is a pilot offered by the TST Center for Jewish Positive Psychology, which plans to invite congregants to share their professional skills with the congregation.  If you have skills or information that you would like to share, please contact Mary Beth Rettger to discuss how we can help you make those available (mbrettger@shirtikva.org).

Sorry, Registration has ended.
