Join Rabbi Lisa for a powerful and thought-provoking series of three classes on Elie Wiesel’s trilogy: Night, Dawn and Day (also known as The Accident). Come to one, two or three classes – we will explore one book per session. We will study each of Wiesel’s books with an eye toward trauma, identity, memory, and morality in the wake of the Holocaust.
Classes will meet on the following Thursdays in May from 11am-12pm:
Thursday, May 8: Night - The Holocaust experience, memory, and the struggle of faith.
Thursday, May 15: Dawn – The transition from victim to fighter and the moral ambiguity of justice.
Thursday May 22: Day (The Accident) – Life after trauma: Survivorship, guilt, and the prospect of healing.
Books are available new or used at local bookstores and/or online at sites such as Amazon.com. These three short works by Wiesel have been published both separately in three small volumes or together with all 3 books in a single volume.
