Join us for Shabbat dinner and an informative presentation by Wendy Wayne Mishara, an immigration policy expert and TST member. Wendy is a nationally recognized expert on enforcement issues and the interplay of immigration and criminal law. So, what is really happening at the border? What is the current state of immigration policy and how has it changed with the new administration?

Wendy previously directed an immigration unit at the Massachusetts public defender agency and recently founded a consulting practice, specializing in immigration enforcement policy and in developing models of immigration representation. She serves on several national immigration committees and volunteers regularly at the southern border, representing asylum seekers. Wendy will debunk some of the myths surrounding this complex hot topic and provide us with a better understanding of whether we are living up to our ideals as a "nation of immigrants."
