Join Rabbi Lisa for another Teatime series, now on Mondays from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
(Note the slight change in time!)

Visions and Voices of Zionism: Although the Zionist movement was founded in the late 19th century by secular Jews, largely as a response by Ashkenazi Jews to rising antisemitism in Europe, the idea and ideals of Zionism date back to the Biblical times - to the very beginning of Jews and Judaism.

In these Teatime sessions, we will explore the origins and evolution of Zionism, and the many ways in which Jews have yearned and worked for a homeland in the Land of Israel. As part of our survey of Zionism, we will focus on Jewish literature, music, architecture and visual arts as creative expressions of the Jewish will to turn our hearts and minds toward Jerusalem and Zion.

These classes will take place both at Temple Shir Tikva as well as online via Zoom.

Monday, March 18 from 12-1 pm: The Dream of Zionism from the Bible to 1948

Monday, March 25 from 12-1 pm: The Reality of Zionism from 1948 to 2000

Monday, April 1 from 12-1 pm: Varieties of Zionism in the 21st Century
